Mihail Golic

My name is Mihail Golic. I am a 25-year-old seminarian, devoted son, and loving brother. Coming from a family of strong faith, my father being an Eastern Orthodox priest in Serbia, pursuing a career in theology seemed like an obvious path for me to take. I am grateful to have been raised with the values of service and devotion ingrained in me from early on.
My journey in theological education began during my high school years at the Seminary of Saint John Chrysostom in my hometown Kragujevac, Serbia. This early exposure ignited my passion for theological studies and propelled me to pursue further education in the United States at Saint Sava School of Theology in Libertyville, IL. As a current student at Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, I am eager to expand my knowledge and understanding of the New Testament through the unique lens of Midrashic studies. I am committed to applying the knowledge and insights I could gain from the fellowship to my future ministry and academic pursuits. I am thrilled by the prospect of delving into the world of Midrashic interpretation and its application to the New Testament text. Not only that, but I believe that the Midrashic approach to the New Testament will enhance my ability to communicate the Gospel message effectively and foster a greater appreciation for the shared roots of Christianity and Judaism.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Kelly Patel

Hi, I’m Kelly, I’m married with a 15 year old son (who, I’m delighted to say, wants to be a vicar) and I live in London. I have a Degree in Physics from Imperial College London, a PGCE from King’s College London (I used to be a high school Physics teacher!) and another degree in Theology from St. Mary’s University in Twickenham, London. Right now I’m in the middle of a PhD in Theology concentrating on ‘conceptions of man and the form of God’ for first and second century Christians and Jews. I love Church and Synagogue in all their various forms, and believe that we all form part of God’s great tapestry, and have a heart especially for the sick, the lonely and the lost, so I volunteer with special needs kids and run a support group for adults with health issues. I’m looking forward to working with Root Source…..and I’m pretty sure there is no one else quite like me ….so hopefully we’ll come up with something unique!
